Artist, designer, biology geek.

Cyrena Nouzille is a Los Angeles-based design professional and enrolled in the M.F.A. program at Cal State Northridge. As a career designer, entrepreneur, and life-long learner, she has an eclectic set of interests and skills—all revolving around art and science—from museum exhibits to interior and graphic design to brewpub owner and manager.  As an artist, she suffers from a “what can I do with that?” syndrome, finding an appreciation for ordinary consumables, such as abandoned chairs, old fabric, and wine barrels. Applying her degree in biology and love of nature, she creates sculptural work from biodegradable, repurposed, and recycled materials.  Her goal is to assemble multi-media sculptures that spark conversations about environmental issues, promote up-cycled design, and sustainable consumption.

From 2008-2019, Cyrena created, owned and operated Ladyface Ale Companie, which was named 2014 California State Small Business of the Year (27th Dist.) and 2015 Agoura HIlls’ Business of the Year for its dedication to supporting the local community. Since selling her brewery-restaurant in 2019, she continues to consult for a local Los Angeles brewery. Her years as an exhibit designer and technician for the Natural History Museum of Los Angles County continue to influence her research, ideology, work, and space planning. All of her professional experience is tied together by graphic and packaging design which features prominently in her applied art portfolio.
